Assoc. prof. Tomas Ambrozaitis
He studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, Master's degree at the Faculty of Arts at Klaipeda University. In 2000, he participated in the master class of the Italian conductor R. Alessandrini, did an internship at the Felix Mendelssohn Academy of Music and Theater in Leipzig (Germany). 2001–2003: studied at the Master's program of the Faculty of Arts at Klaipeda University. In 2007, he graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater with a postgraduate degree in art.
He worked as a choirmaster of the Klaipeda Concert Hall Choir “Aukuras”, conductor of the Klaipda Concert Hall Chamber Orchestra, organist and choir leader of the Suma Choir of the Plungė St. John the Baptist Church, lecturer in the Choir Conducting Department of the Klaipėda Stasys Šimkus Conservatory, and leader of the String Instruments Orchestra of the Klaipėda Eduardas Balsys Art Gymnasium. 2001–2011: the chamber choir of Kretinga District Culture Center under his leadership won excellent awards in Lithuania and abroad: 2nd place in the Lithuanian mixed choir competition in Vilnius; winners of the Golden Bird in the nomination “New Shining Star”; gold diplomas in the categories of religious music and national music at the International Competition for Non-Professional Vocal Ensembles “In canto sul garda” (Italy). Republican 2007, 2009 Millennium Song Celebration “Contractual Age”, 2014 and 2017 Chief Conductor of the Student Song Celebration in Vilnius. In 2008 the cultural prize established by Kretinga district municipality was evaluated. 2011-2015: Director and artistic director of Šiauliai State Chamber Choir Polifonija. 2015-2019: Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Polifonija Choir. Since 2012 he has been the head of Klaipėda Boys' and Youth Choir “Gintarėlis”. In the same year, he made his debut at the Klaipėda State Musical Theater in a concert dedicated to the anniversary of Eduardas Kaniavas, and he also prepared and conducted the theater performance “Dreams of Broadway”.
Since 2017 – Chief Conductor of Klaipeda Musical Theater. In 2017, for merits to the education and culture of the city of Klaipėda, T. Ambrozaitis was awarded the Queen Louise Medal. Member of the creative group for the Song Day of the Republican Song Celebration “Vardan tos...” (2018).
T. Ambrozaitis has been the chief conductor of the Lithanian Song Celebration's Song Day on multiple occasions.
Tomas Ambrozaitis is a member of the Council of the Klaipėda City Choir Association Aukuras, a member of the Lithuanian Choir Union, a choir expert-consultant at the Lithuanian National Cultural Center, and a member of the commissions of international and national choirs and conductors' competitions.
