Sacred Renaissance Polyphony Vocal Ensemble "decOrata"
Sacred polyphony ensemble decOrata was formed in the autumn of 2013 at church of Mary, the Queen of Peace, in Klaipėda (Lithuania). The main goal of the ensemble is singing sacred polyphony of Renaissance in the liturgy, revealing treasures of Sacred Music to believers and growing in faith themselves through this music.
Apart from its home parish of Mary, the Queen of Peace, the ensemble has sung in various churches of Lithuania, has also performed in Germany.
The ensemble's name decOrata derives from the Latin word decor (coherence, grace, beauty). Having listened more attentively to this word, we discover not only the exterior charm and beauty of this music in it. This word also reflects the greatest desire of the singers – to pray (Latin – orare) from the heart (Latin – de cor).
The ensemble's repertoire includes the works of G. P. da Palestrina, T. L de Victoria, H. L. Hassler, L. G. da Viadana, F. Anerio, P. de la Rue, T. Tallis, O. De Lassus and other composers of the Renaissance.
