The Klaipeda City Elderly Mixed Choir "Alna",

The Klaipeda city elderly mixed choir - community "Alna", named after the river Alna, was established in 1993.
The founder and longtime artistic director and conductor of the Choir was Stasys Šimkus Conservatory lecturer Stanislovas Juščius (1931 - 2015). The choir "Alna" will celebrate the anniversary of 25th in 2018. For the last five years the choir is headed by a longtime “Alna” concertmaster Olga Lebedeva.
The choir "Alna" is a member of the Association of elderly people in Klaipėda, it combines the song lovers aged over 60 years.
"Alna" successfully participates in the Lithuanian Song Celebrations, festivals of Klaipėda region, as well as in city events. The choir's performances are always welcome in Klaipeda city and district social care homes.
The repertoire of the choir "Alna" is rather wide: it's classical and sacred works, songs of Lithuanian folk, contemporary Lithuanian composers.
During the quarter-long choir "Alna" has performed not only in Lithuania but also in Liepaja, Jurmala (Latvia), Tallinn (Estonia), Sovietsk (Russia), Seine, Punsk, Krakow (Poland), Helsinki (Finland).
